I have been telling stories professionally in one form or another for more than 20 years. With a background that includes television, documentary filmmaking, and community storytelling, I love to share stories that I learn or create. Today, I am fortunate to have thousands of people follow these stories online.
I love to explore tales about the haints, hollers, myths, and mountains of Appalachia, and try to mix folklore, history, humor, and the strange old stories that have been passed down through these hills for generations. Some are spooky, some are funny, and some fall somewhere in that wonderful Appalachian territory between “that really happened” and “well, that’s the way I heard it.”
When I'm not telling stories, I work in banking and community development in Hyden, KY. And I'm lucky to be a husband to a supportive wife and father of three fantastic kids. Preserving and promoting Appalachian Culture through stories and finding new ways to share the culture, humor, history, and folklore of the mountains with the next generation is something I try to do in some form every day. I hope you'll take a listen and enjoy a few stories with me.
